Son indicted in teacher mom's beating death

NEW YORK

/*Henry Wachtel*/, 19, was arraigned Monday on murder charges.

Police say his mother, 63-year-old /*Karyn Kay*/, called 911 from their apartment last Tuesday to say her son was having a seizure.

The defense blames Wachtel's epilepsy medication for his violent reaction.

Kay was a published author and a film maker who taught at LaGuardia High School and Pratt Institute.

Her movie "Call Me" was released in 1988 to positive reviews.
