Pair of suspects arrested in Deer Park bank robbery

Leroy Greene and Leo Johnson face a number of charges after police arrested them about 30 minutes after they allegedly robbed a Chase Bank in Deer Park around noon.

One of the men approached a teller and presented a note stating he had a gun and demanding cash. The other man waited in the bank. The teller complied, and both suspects fled the bank on foot.

Responding officers quickly located them and took them into custody. Further investigation by Pattern Crime Unit detectives revealed Greene was responsible for robbing a Chase Bank on Woods Road in North Babylon on March 12, 2014.

Greene, 46, of Wyandanch, was charged with one count of second-degree robbery and one count of third-degree robbery. Johnson, 42, also of Wyandanch, was charged with one count of second-degree robbery and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
