Pedestrian killed on Grand Central Parkway

QUEENS

Around 11 p.m., EMS workers and the New York Fire Department responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on the westbound Grand Central Parkway between exits 5 and 6 in the East Elmhurst section of Queens.

Fidel Vidal Diaz, 31, of Queens, was pronounced DOA at the scene. He was struck by more than one car.

According to a release from the New Yorkc City Police Department, Diaz crossed the the parkway from the eastbound lane, heading north, making it to the center median. But while attempting to cross the westbound lane, he was hit by two cars. The drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
