NEW ROCHELLE, New York (WABC) -- The boyfriend of a woman found dead in a Bronx park will be arraigned Monday after police say he confessed to killing her
Friends and family gathered in New Rochelle Saturday night to light candles in honor of Ashley McDuffie.
The 27-year-old mother of two was found dead Friday night, a week after her family last heard from her.
McDuffie's grandmother says she saw less of her granddaughter after she started dating Jason Meyers recently.
But she knew something was wrong when McDuffie did not respond to phone calls to pick up her 6-year-ld daughter and 3-year-old son.
"She loved her kids, she loved her children - she genuinely loved those kids, and she loved life," said the kids' grandmother, Linda Hines.
Mount Vernon police say Meyers confessed Friday to killing McDuffie, and dumping her body in Seton Falls Park.
He is charged with murder.
