HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police are on the lookout for a cross-dressing carjacker on Long Island armed with a machete.
And now, Suffolk County police detectives are seeking the public's help to identify and locate the suspect.
Cops say a resident on Willets Place in Huntington Station was approached by a man, dressed as a woman and armed with a machete, in his driveway on October 29 at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Detectives say the man demanded the victim to turn over his car keys, and when he refused, the man forced him to drive the vehicle. A short time later, they pulled over on Sunnywoods Drive and Pigeon Hill Road in Huntington Station, where the victim was able to get out of the car.
The suspect fled in the vehicle, a 2012 Honda Odyssey, which was later recovered in the parking lot of St. Anthony's High School.
The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Huntington Hospital.
The suspect was described as light-skinned, around 5-foot-5 with a thin build. He was wearing a long, dark wig, oversized sunglasses and a baseball hat.
