GREAT KILLS (WABC) -- A prayer service was held Thursday night on Staten Island to honor the 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians murdered by ISIS.
The service was held at Archangel Michael and Saint Mina Coptic Church.
Timothy Cardinal Dolan attended the service and offered prayers for the victims.
He also prayed for the continued protection of the church.
"I come as a neighbor, I come as a friend, I come as a fellow believer, and I come simply to let you know that I love you, as do the Catholic people," Cardinal Dolan said.
The cardinal also reaffirmed a message from Pope Francis proclaiming solidarity among all Christians around the world.
