NEW YORK -- A Bronx man has been awarded nearly $500,000 in a civil suit against the city, after he was beaten by NYPD officers in 2012.
A video showed police using batons to beat then 19-year-old Jateik Reed during a stop and frisk.
Police originally said he had drugs on him, but charges were dropped two months later because records show he did not.
Reed sued the city in 2013.
