Police discover what they believe to be hand floating in water near Coney Island park

CONEY ISLAND (WABC) -- It was a disturbing discovery in Brooklyn on Sunday night.

Police responded to a call about a body part floating in the water near Calvert Vaux Park in Coney Island. They found what they believe is a female hand near Shore Parkway and Bay 46th Street.

A water and land search of the surrounding area did not turn up any additional body parts.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
