EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Eight people were injured, including three children, when a stolen SUV slammed into two cars on the Belt Parkway early Sunday, police said.

According to the NYPD, the driver of a white Mercedes SUV that was reported stolen out of New Jersey lost control and struck the rear of a 4-door Honda sedan.

The SUV then continued out of control and crashed into a Mitsubishi SUV.

Police say the driver of the Mercedes jumped out of the vehicle and fled the scene.

The driver is described to be a white or Hispanic male wearing a white tee-shirt.
