Dunellen School Board President facing child porn distribution charges

DUNELLEN, New Jersey (WABC) -- On a suburban tree-lined street in Dunellen, New Jersey sits a house on the corner, where neighbors say a solitary couple lives, and where officials say a man stalked his child victims online.

Phillip Heiney is the President of the Dunellen School Board, and he is now charged with possession of over a hundred electronic devices, what may end up being massive amounts of child porn - so disturbing that the State Attorney General worries about the law enforcement officials forced to look through the files.

"It's extremely hard for these investigators," said Attorney General Christopher Porrino.

No one answered the door at Heiney's home on Tuesday night. Neighbors say he and his wife rarely spoke to others outside, and they never saw children going into the house. Still, Heiney has been on the school board in Dunellen for years with direct access to students. So far, there is no evidence any of the victims on his computers are local children, but the investigation is just beginning.

Heiney faces ten years in prison if convicted. He is charged with not only possessing files containing child pornography, but distributing those files to other people.

The school year starts in Dunellen on September 5th.
