East Orange man shot to death during apparent robbery

EAST ORANGE, N.J. (WABC) -- Authorities said a man was shot and killed during an apparent robbery outside his East Orange home.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has identified the victim as Edwin Gibson, 32. The investigation is continuing.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray told the The Star-Ledger of Newark that Gibson was gunned down early Friday while his 14-year-old daughter was inside their home on Rhode Island Avenue.

The Essex County Sheriff's Crime Stoppers program is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
