ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. (WABC) -- Firefighters in northern New Jersey battled heavy flames and a partial collapse at a house.

The fire broke out Monday morning on 16th Avenue at East 54th Street in Elmwood Park.

The fire apparently started on the first and second floors of the home, and then damaged the roof.

Authorities say the occupants, 85-year old Margarete Holley and her son 41-year old Ryan Holley, evacuated themselves when they noticed the smoke and flames.

No one was injured.

The fire did not appear to be suspicious and was believed to have started in the area of the front porch of the home but the exact cause has not yet been determined.

The house suffered significant damage to the entire structure.
