QUEENS, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police are looking for a hit and run driver after a woman was struck and killed by a car while walking in Queens.
Around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a car wreck involving a pedestrian on Ditmars Boulevard at 19th Street.
They found Betty Jean Dibiasio, 21, of Astoria, lying on the road unresponsive with severe head injuries. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
According to the New York City Police Department, a car was westbound on Ditmars Boulevard when Dibiasio crossed. The car hit her and knocked her down.
The driver then fled. No one has been arrested. The investigation remains ongoing.
