Starting Monday, commuters can avoid New York City's bumpy roads by taking a new ferry service that will link to Manhattan piers on the Hudson River.

Ferryboats are now sailing between Hudson River Park at West 44th Street and the World Financial Center every 15 minutes during morning and evening rush.

Southbound service will begin at 7:40 in the morning, while the first boat will leave at 4:45 p.m. each evening.

The ferry will be free all next week, then will cost $8 roundtrip with discounts for frequent riders.
