Man wanted for kissing 12-year-old girl in Manhattan elevator

LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- Police are searching for a man who kissed a 12-year-old girl in a Manhattan elevator.

Authorities say he approached the victim inside the elevator of the Smith Houses on the Lower East Side just after 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 29.

The victim was reportedly returning home at the time.

Police say the man started talking to the girl before kissing her on the cheek and then trying to kiss her on the mouth.

He got off the elevator on the sixth floor and ran away.
