RIVERHEAD (WABC) -- It has been nearly a year since a single mother on Long Island was killed by a hit-and-run driver, and police are renewing the effort to track down her killer.

The incident happened last July on County Road 58 near Woodcrest Avenue in Riverhead.

Authorities say 26-year-old Kristina Tfelt was hit by a 2000 Cadillac that was later reported stolen.

The suspect fled the scene on foot.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Riverhead police.
