NEW YORK (WABC) -- LIRR westbound service between Jamaica and Penn has been restored after being suspended earlier due to a possible track condition in one of the East River Tunnels.

NYC Transit honored LIRR fares on the E subway train between Jamaica and Penn. At Woodside, Port Washington customers were accommodated by the 7 subway train for westbound service.

The MTA says the affected tunnel was closed due to the problem on the tracks.
