Man accused of driving drunk in Riverside with daughter in car, police say

RIVERSIDE, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police arrested a man early Sunday morning, suspecting him of driving drunk in Suffolk County with a child in the car.

Jose M. Lopez, 31, of Riverhead, was arrested and charged under Leandra's Law with aggravated driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was stopped around 1 a.m. Sunday in Riverside on County Route 104 in Southampton.

According to state police, Lopez's passenger was his 14-year-old daughter.

He is scheduled for arraignment Sunday in the Town of Southampton Court.
