QUEENS, N.Y. -- Two men are dead after an early morning wreck on Long Island.
This is preliminary but DCPI has confirmed that this is a double fatal single car ax.....
According to police, emergency workers responded around 12:40 a.m. to an overturned vehicle on the westbound Long Island Expressway near 108th Street near the Grand Central Parkway.
Two men were removed from the mangled car and one was taken in critical condition to New York Hospital Queens; the second was transported to Elmhurst Hospital. Both victims, in their 30s, died of their injuries.
According to the initial police report, the vehicle failed to navigate the turn for the Grand Central Parkway at exit 22A, and crashed through the guardrail. The victims' identities have not been released pending family notification.
