Man shot while standing outside bar in Uniondale, Long Island

UNIONDALE, Long Island (WABC) -- A man was shot early Sunday while standing outside a Long Island bar.

The shooting happened at 2:38 a.m. at the Classico Bar on Jerusalem Avenue in Uniondale.

Police say a man armed with a handgun fired several shots. striking the 23-year-old victim in the arm and face.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.

The subject who fled on foot eastbound on Jerusalem Avenue is described as a male Hispanic, wearing a green shirt, a green backpack and dark colored pants.
