Mass of remembrance held for missing Long Island nun
Bill Ritter has the story.

EAST NORTHPORT, Long Island (WABC) -- A nun from Long Island has been missing since summer when she went on vacation in Europe.

Monday night, her friends and colleagues held a mass of remembrance and acknowledged that she's probably dead.

Sister Eileen Christie of St. Anthony of Padua Church in the Suffolk County Hamlet of East Northport disappeared in July while visiting the village of Halstatt in Austria.

There was an extensive search, but she hasn't been found.

Search dogs indicate a body may be submerged in a lake.

A search of the lake will not resume until the spring.
