Diana Williams recognized for 25 years in New York television

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Eyewitness News Anchor Diana Williams is being recognized for her incredible impact on journalism and television.

Diana was inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences - Silver Circle.

She is being recognized for her distinguish career of 25 years in New York television.

It is one of broadcasting's highest honors from the New York Chapter of the Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Among them, is Eyewitness News creator, Al Primo.

The last member of the Eyewitness News team to win the award was the late Bill Beutel.

Diana anchored with Bill for 10 years.

"Think about the life experiences that we've all had that have made us better at what we do each and every day. Those life experiences make us better. They make us better journalists, they make us better storytellers, and they make us better at asking the right questions. And Al Primo, you talked about creating a family at Eyewitness News. Guess what? That's what you did. You created a family. And that family has had my back every single day," Williams said.
