BROOKLYN, N.Y. (WABC) -- A man died in a small fire in a high-rise apartment building in Brooklyn early Friday morning.
The 31-year-old man, identified as Vitaliy Narodetskiy, died when fire broke out on the 19th floor of the Coney Island apartments on West 33rd Street just before 3 a.m.
His 55-year-old father was injured, but is expected to survive.
There was a heavy smoke throughout the 24-story apartment building.
The fire was quickly brought under control. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental electrical.
