NEW YORK (WABC) -- Celebrity chef Sandra Lee left the hospital Friday after a final surgery for breast cancer.

Lee said she was having a final reconstructive surgery Thursday.

It was carried out one year to the day after Lee underwent a double mastectomy for breast cancer.

Lee, who is Gov. Andrew Cuomo's longtime girlfriend, announced last year that she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

She has suffered setbacks since undergoing a double mastectomy.

Lee released a statement on Facebook Tuesday saying she is hopeful to be cancer-free soon.
