3-alarm fire burns through apartment building on Grand Concourse in the Bronx

TREMONT, Bronx (WABC) -- A third alarm fire that burned through an apartment building in the Tremont section of the Bronx Tuesday morning left about 40 residents temporarily homeless.



The fire started inside the Anny Deli and Grocery on the Grand Concourse just before 6 a.m. and spread through several floors.



Eight people were treated for minor injuries.



All the residents of the building were permitted to reoccupy the building, with the exception of seven apartments - housing about 40 residents.



They will be temporarily housed at a nearby hotel.



The cause of the fire is under investigation.
