Kemberly Richardson reports from the Flatiron District, where three women were shot overnight.

FLATIRON DISTRICT (WABC) -- One woman was killed and two others injured in a shooting outside of a club in the Flatiron District early Monday morning.

The incident happened outside the Motivo nightclub on East 21st Street at Fifth Avenue just after 4 a.m.

Police say a man attending a party inside got into an argument with someone and was kicked out by a bouncer but refused to leave, and then told people he was going to get his gun.

The victims were all rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where a 24-year-old woman identified as Walikque Faussett was pronounced dead. She is the single mother of a 3-year-old.

A 30-year-old woman was shot in the shoulder, while a 25-year-old woman was shot in the foot and hip. The women were outside, waiting for a cab to head home.

Authorities say the women just happened to be leaving the club at the time, and they are not believed to have been the intended targets.

Police say the gunman is believed to be a member of a Bronx gang. He was last seen fleeing the scene in a black BMW eastbound on East 20th Street.

"I hope he gets 25 to life, not even, death row," said the victim's brother, Prince Fausett.

Walikque worked in sales and lived in the Bronx. Her son was the center of her world.

Now devastated family members are trying to figure out how to break the news to the little boy.

"He won't be able to sleep without his mother, he asks for her every moment, she's his everything," said the victim's stepmother, Emilie Faussett.
