BRIGANTINE, N.J. -- The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for missing boaters about a half mile off the New Jersey coast.
A guard spokesman says three or four people are believed missing from a fishing boat that apparently capsized off the coast at Brigantine, just north of Atlantic City.
The search got underway after local police contacted the Coast Guard about 5:45 p.m. Friday that three or four people were spotted in the water.
Crews, by boat and helicopter, were still looking for the missing boaters several hours later, and an HC-130 Hercules airplane crew from North Carolina was en route early Saturday morning.
