BRONX, New York (WABC) -- Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with an attempted rape in the Bronx earlier this month, and they are hoping surveillance video will lead to an arrest.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. November 6, as the 20-year-old victim was at her home near Taylor Avenue in the Parkchester section. She had just moved in and was sleeping on a mattress on the living room floor.
Authorities say the suspect entered through the kitchen window using a fire escape and asked if the two could have sex, but the woman refused, saying she was six-months pregnant. Police say the suspect then ordered the woman to strip, and that's when he performed a lewd act in front of her.
The man then asked the woman to be his girlfriend and for her phone number, and the victim, doing whatever she could to protect herself, complied and told him to come back in a few days. He then fled the scene.
The woman went to a neighbor's apartment and called authorities, and she was taken to Jacobi Hospital for evaluation.
The suspect is described as a black man with a light complexion, about 5-foot-7 and 200 pounds, last seen wearing a light-colored hat, dark-colored pants, black and white shoes and a light-colored jacket.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 800-577-TIPS or for Spanish 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
