NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- A police-involved shooting is under investigation at an apartment complex in Newark.
The shooting happened at about 1:20 p.m. near the intersection of Ivine Turner Boulevard and Muhammad Ali Avenue.
An officer says he spotted a man carrying a gun at a housing complex and ordered him to drop the weapon.
The suspect apparently refused and the officer opened fire.
The suspect was shot in the arm and sustained non-life threatening injuries.
No police officers were injured during the shooting.

The prosecutor's office said the investigation into the matter is active and ongoing.
