LOWER MANHATTAN (WABC) -- Police cleared the World Trade Center Memorial plaza on Sunday afternoon after some visitors complained about noxious fumes.

The FDNY hazmat team responded, and found the scent, coming from the South Pool was from a new anti-algae chemical.

Some people were coughing, but needed treatment.

The Plaza is open, but the South Pool is shut down, likely until Monday morning.
