SURF CITY, NC -- Cameras rolled Wednesday on the North Carolina coast as rehabilitated sea turtles were released back into the ocean.
Volunteers from the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center let 14 turtles go.
WCTI-TV reports many of the turtles had come to the rescue because they were cold-stunned or had various other injuries.
The center cared for about 90 turtles over the winter. There are still about 50 still being treated there.
Nearly 400 people lined a section of Surf City's beach to get a chance to see the turtles reunited with the water.
