Valhalla toddler struck by minivan dies

VALHALLA (WABC) -- Police in Westchester County say a toddler struck by a minivan last week has died.

Ramapo police say 18-month-old Judy Danzinger suffered a severe head injury on Friday after a minivan struck her on Beckett Court in Chestnut Ridge.

The little girl died Saturday morning at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

Neighbors told the Journal News that the minivan was traveling less than 5 mph as the driver was attempting to turn around on the dead-end street. The driver apparently was unaware that the toddler was behind her as she started to back up.

Police say the driver was not charged.
