WATCH: Texas police officer grabs student by the throat while breaking up fight

ROUND ROCK, Tx. (WABC) -- A Texas School Resource Officer who slammed a 14-year-old student to the floor of a cafeteria is under investigation.

Gyasi Hughes got into a fight with another student at Round Rock High School. Two officers tried to break up the fight, but when Hughes touches one officer, the officer then grabbed him by the throat, and takes him down.

Police say officers had to use force because Hughes would not calm down.

Hughes was suspended for fighting.
