HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. -- Train service on New Jersey Transit's Northeast Corridor line is running with delays after a train struck a man near the Hamilton station.

NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith says the incident occurred at about 9:25 a.m.

A New York-bound train that left Trenton struck and injured an adult male who was on the tracks at the west end of the Hamilton station.

The man was taken to a hospital in Trenton and was conscious and breathing but had suffered a head injury.

None of the 300 passengers and crew on the train suffered injuries.

Eastbound service was temporarily suspended between Hamilton and Princeton Junction, but has resumed with delays up to 30 minutes.

The incident is under investigation.
