PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (WABC) -- A fire consumed two homes on Long Island late Wednesday night.

Just before 10 p.m., firefighters were called to 18 Cozzens Place in Patchogue for a fire burning at two houses, a vehicle and a shed.

The fire seems to have started in one of the buildings and spread to a vehicle. A neighbor's house had heavy damage from the heat.

It was under control in about 30 minutes.

There were no reported injuries and the occupants of the homes were able to escape.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
