BEDFORD HILLS, Westchester County (WABC) -- Police in Westchester County are searching for a suspected peeping Tom, and they're hoping surveillance video will lead to an arrest.
The incident happened at a home on Cliffside Lane in Bedford Hills, where a security camera captured the man on Wednesday, January 2, around 8:20 p.m.
He can be seen carrying a ladder that police believe he took from another home on the street.
As he approached the bedroom window, he apparently spotted the security camera and took off running.
The victim's family says the first time such an incident occurred, over the summer, a woman in the home was coming out of the shower and spotted the suspect. They then installed the surveillance camera that caught him in the act six months later.
The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens or early 20s with a beard or mustache wearing a track suit and a winter hat. He was also wearing glasses.
The victim's family believes the suspect is probably local since he knew how to navigate the woods and backyards. They also speculate he may be a college student home for winter break based on the lengthy gap in incidents.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bedford Police at (914) 241-3111.
