Police searching for 'hugging thief' in Brooklyn

PARK SLOPE, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Police are searching for a hugging thief in Brooklyn.

They say a man approached a 78-year-old woman in Park Slope in early November and robbed her by embracing her.

He claimed to know her after the hug, then left the area.

Hours later, the victim realized her wallet was missing when she tried to go to the bank.
