NEW YORK (WABC) -- This week's MTA Heroes are subway train operators, conductors, and train service supervisors who helped rescue a dog from the tracks.
The pup jumped onto the tracks after a passenger fell at the 14th Street-Union Square station.
Apparently the dog had energy to burn, because the pooch ended up in Queens!
Train operator Richard Canfield, conductor Kathy Ann Caesar, train operator Jin Yu, and train service supervisor Gurmit Singh Jaswal were in different parts of the subway system when they spotted the dog and reported the sightings to the rail control center.
The dog went from Union Square to Times Square, to 59th Street, to the Steinway Street Station, and ended up at Forest Hills-71st Avenue.
Eventually, police safely rescued the pup.
