Postal worker in Crown Heights arrested for disorderly conduct while on the job

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Postal Worker Glen Grays is fuming mad. First, he was almost hit by a car with four plainclothes officers inside, and then they arrested him, all while he was trying to deliver the mail in Crown Heights.

As Grays tried to deliver a package to 999 President Street, he says he was pulled away, and ultimately cuffed. Now on Monday, 11 days after, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton commented.

"I am not pleased with what I saw, and the actions of our officers. Internal Affairs will make a more complete report to me when their investigation goes forward.Borough President Eric Adams who first brought the issue to light a week ago hopes to see some action, saying not only was Grays traumatized, but the entire community that saw the mailman get arrested was as well.

Police have gathered surveillance video from the time of the incident as part of their review.

Meanwhile a colleague has taken over Grays' postal route, and Grays, who has never been arrested before, is now dealing with a summons for disorderly conduct.

"African Americans are targeted by cops. I thought it would be different...I would be looked at different," he says.

In addition, the officers got into a car accident after Grays' arrest, and he had to go to the hospital.
