WOODHAVEN (WABC) -- Police say a Queens man who had been shot multiple times has died from his injuries.

Authorities identified the man as 28-year-old Eric Roman.

He was shot shortly before midnight Friday on 89th Street in Woodhaven, and was wounded in his head, hand and leg.

He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and police said he died on Saturday.

There have been no arrests. An investigation is ongoing.

Until Saturday, New York City had been on a record-setting stretch of 12 days without a homicide in the five boroughs.

It was the longest murder-free period since the NYPD began tracking crimes with Compstat in 1994.
