Long Island traffic stop suspect wanted in Connecticut bank robbery

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. -- Authorities say a driver arrested on drug and driving charges on Long Island has been identified as a suspect in a Connecticut bank robbery.

Newsday reported that Shawn Twomey of Norwich, Conn., was being held at the Nassau County jail following his Feb. 15 arrest. Police had stopped him on the Northern State Parkway in Lake Success.

Then Connecticut state police notified New York authorities about the Feb. 14 robbery of a Citizens Bank in East Lyme. Twomey faces robbery and larceny charges in Connecticut.

Information on his attorney was not immediately available.
