Shootings in Manhattan, Staten Island leave 2 dead, 1 wounded

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The New York Police Department is investigating the deaths of two men in separate shooting incidents in Manhattan and Staten Island.

Officers responded to a call of a man shot around 3 a.m. Sunday on Bement Avenue on Staten Island. They found a man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died. No identity has been released.

Police in Manhattan responded to a call of two men shot on Post Avenue around 4:15 a.m., and discovered a man with a wound to the chest and another with a wound to the groin. The man who had been shot in the chest died at a hospital. The other man was in stable condition.

Police identified the dead man as Ernesto Santiago, 33.
