7 On Your Side: Best buys for July
Nina Pineda has a look at what's on sale this month...

NEW YORK (WABC) -- July is exploding with great deals. But as it gets hotter we have the best deal to keep you cool.

Dan DeGrandpre of dealnews.com knows the hottest buys. He says June's A/C prices were already discounted. But this month, "The prices in July will be about 15 percent to 20 percent lower," DeGrandpre said.

In August, prices will rise with the mercury and selection will only melt.

It's also a good time to spring for outdoor furniture sets.

"Deals are basically the same as you'll see in August. But there's less selection in August, so why not buy now," DeGrandpre said.

And just in time for beach weather, stock up on bathing suits. And all summer apparel's marked down.

"Boutique stores will have great sales like these," DeGrandpre said.

Macy's will light up the New York City sky on July 4th with fireworks. But, in it's stores they'll light the fuse on big time savings.

"Macy's has a 50 percent off sale, not up to half off. It's 'half off,'" DeGrandpre said.

In the market for a TV? Dan says the biggest discounts will be on the smallest sets. Like this 32 inch set.

"This one is $180. They'll get as low in places as $160. $160 for a small TV is a really good bargain," DeGrandpre said.

If you're eyeing tech, hold off on buying a new laptop. August and September's "back to school" sales will be bigger.

Lastly, looking for a quick getaway less than a tank of gas away? What better place than the birthplace of independence - Philadelphia.

"Hotels are cheap, lots of restaurant deals," DeGrandpre said.

And there's a couple freebie days. On the 19th, it's national ice cream day. It's always on the 3rd Sunday of July. Check out Baskin Robbins where Dan says they offer buy one get one free. And cheesecake day at the Cheesecake Factory, on the 30th, half off a slice of it's famous cheesecakes.
