Several New Jersey towns cancel Memorial Day parades due to severe weather threats


Several towns in New Jersey have cancelled Memorial Day parades scheduled for Monday because of a severe weather threat.

Ho-Ho-Kus will host a ceremony at 11 a.m. in the council chamber at its Borough Hall.
Rochelle Park
- Memorial Day parade canceled.
- Memorial services will be held at the American Legion at 9:30 a.m.

- Memorial Day Parade canceled
- Veterans Services will be moved inside to Borough Hall Council Chambers at 11 a.m.

Township of Brick
- Memorial Day parade canceled
- Memorial Day Ceremony will be in Town Hall at 10 a.m.

Saddle River

- A memorial service will be held in the place of the Memorial Day Parade at Saddle River Borough Hall at 11:00 AM. All are invited to attend.

Newtown Borough
-The Newtown Memorial Day Parade scheduled for Monday has been cancelled due to weather.

-Due to the impending weather, Monday's Memorial Day Parade has been canceled.

Roselle Park
-Memorial Day Parade Canceled due to weather concerns

-Memorial Day Parade has been cancelled due to weather concerns.

-Memorial Day parade cancelled due to impending rain. There will be no make up date.

Cedar Grove
-Memorial Day Parade for Monday, May 30, 2016 has been cancelled.

- Memorial Day parade has been canceled.
- The Memorial Day Services scheduled at 11:00 a.m. at the Cemetery will instead take place in Memorial Hall (at Town Hall).
- The corner dedication in Memory of Major Mark Welch will take place as planned at 1:00 PM, corner of Prospect St. and Ash Road, rain or shine.

-Due to the inclement weather forecasted, the Memorial Day Parade scheduled for Monday May 30th has been CANCELLED
-11:00 am ceremony at Weehawken H.S. at 53 Liberty Place instead

Franklin Township - Somerset County

- In anticipation of Tropical Depression Bonnie bringing rain to the region on Monday, the Memorial Day Parade is CANCELLED.


-Memorial Day parade canceled.
- Wreath toss and rifle salute ceremony 8 a.m. at Union Ave Bridge and rifle salute at Sunset Park 8:30 a.m. are STILL ON.

Upper Saddle River
-Memorial Day parade cancelled
- The Old Stone Church will still be holding its Community Memorial Day Convocation at 9 a.m.
- All residents are also invited to the public portion of the next Mayor and Council meeting which will be held on Thursday June 2nd at 8 p.m. A moment of silence will be observed in remembrance of our servicemen and women who gave their lives protecting our Country.
