Derek Jeter, Jon Stewart named to New Jersey Hall of Fame

TRENTON, N.J. -- FormerNew York YankeesstarDerek Jeter and "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart are being enshrined in New Jersey history.

They are among the 13 with New Jersey ties who are being inducted into the state Hall of Fame. The selections were announced Friday.

Other 2015 inductees include the musical group Kool & the Gang, ESPN basketball commentator Dick Vitale, writers James Fenimore Cooper and Anna Quindlen, and the late U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg.

U.S. women's soccer captain Christie Rampone, Medal of Honor recipient Jack Jacobs, Fox Studio founder William Fox, Morgan Stanley executive Carla Harris, and philanthropists Lewis Katz and Bernard Marcus also will be honored.

The induction ceremony will take place Oct. 22 at Convention Hall in Asbury Park.

The hall is housed in a mobile museum that travels the state.
