Shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa and the New York Yankees are in agreement on a one-year, $6 million contract, sources familiar with the deal told ESPN's Jeff Passan on Friday.

There was thought that Kiner-Falefa could get nontendered before the 8 p.m. ET deadline, but he's back in his last year before free agency.

The Yankees acquired Kiner-Falefa before last season in a trade with the Minnesota Twins that also included Josh Donaldson.

Kiner-Falefa, 27, hit .261 with four home runs and 48 RBIs last season.
