Starbucks customers leaving with free drinks after computer outage

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Starbucks experienced a computer outage at company operated locations on Friday evening, which left many customers walking out with a free drink.

The point of sale register outage was caused by a failed system refresh.

Starbucks is working to resolve the issue and stores will remain open to serve customers.

The outage is also affecting Evolution Fresh and Teavana stores.
