STATEN ISLAND (WABC) -- Police are searching for a violent intruder after a home invasion on Staten Island.
Investigators the suspect entered a backyard on Richard Avenue Saturday night by prying open a gate.
A 63-year old man exited his house, spotted the crook and confronted him.
During the struggle, the suspect whipped out a sharp object and cut the man on his arm and chest, sending him to the hospital where he received stitches.
The NYPD released a sketch of the suspect, who is described as having short hair, a thin mustache and facial hair, approximately 5'07", approximately 145lbs.
He was last seen wearing a forest green t-shirt, black pants, black sneakers, a black baseball hat, and tan cowhide gloves.
