Man stabbed while getting off bus in Staten Island

OLD TOWN, Staten Island (WABC) -- A man getting off a Staten Island bus was stabbed Thursday afternoon.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was stabbed in the stomach on Hylan Boulevard in the Old Town section just before 12:45 p.m.

He was rushed to Staten Island University Hospital North, where he is listed in stable condition.

Authorities say a man and woman fled on foot but were quickly detained.

Michael Lightfoot, 30, is charged with assault, misdemeanor assault, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

Christine Riley, 28, is facing charges of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

Investigators are still determining a possible motive.
