The tragic discovery was made Friday evening after emergency crews spent days searching the river for the missing 10-year-old girl.
An NYPD boat has been making its way up and down not too far from the shoreline, looking for any trace of the missing swimmer.
FDNY officials say they received a report around 3:30 p.m. of a 17-year-old boy missing in the water at Beach 73rd Street and Shore Front Parkway.
Roughly two dozen people could be seen forming a human chain in the water to aid in the search.
Officials say Graceline Ilogene,15, of the Upper East Side was believed to be dipping her feet in the water when she fell in.
On the second day of the search, police continued to look for the missing 15-year-old girl in the East River.
